ImgArchive uses two types of History, individual image History and system history.
Image History
Image History is a log of all activity that an image of subjected to in its life time. The typical activities that an images would go through would be to be initaly added to the archive then may be checked-out then after some edits would be checked back in, then may be after a time re-checked-out then after some more edits re-checked back in. This cycle of check outs will end in a number of versions all of which will be chronicled in the Image History.
System History
System History is a logging of all activity that all images under go into one History log. Typically this is used for which images were checked in or out on a particular time frame.
History information
Both History types contain the same information. Each event is contained in one record. The fields within each record is as follows:
Date - Time/date the event occurred
Image file name - image the event occurred on
Event - The event that occurred
Comment - A message about the event
Events
The events that the History captures revolves around activity that images undergo, namely being added in to the archive, being checked out/in etc. The list of possible events are listed below:
Added - First time added to the archive.
Checked-out - checked out for editing.
Checked-in - checked in after editing. A new version of the image being checked in may occur if the image is changed.
Unchecked out - checked back to the archive without being edited. Note this will fail if the image has been edited. Forcing the un checked out command will check it back in without the changes.
Exported - This event is just to note that copies of images have been exported out of the archive.
