This is used by you the user to view and edit both the images and metadata. three spaces are set a side for the different fanctions.
The Work space - This is used for editing the images.
The Pictures space - This is used for viewing the images and metadata contaned in the Vault.
The WWW space - This is reserved for a Website of the images.
The Work space
This is the space where images are edited. Images held in the Vault can be copied into the Work space. This is called checkin-out. Once a checked-out image is edited the image can be copied back into the Vault (checked-in). The edited image will then increase in verson by one. For example: if the orginal image was edited then the new verson will be verson 1.0. Any other version will just increase the version by one. For example an image with a verson of 5.0 will increase to 6.0.
In addition, an image can be un-checked out. In this case if the image not edited it is removed from the work space and marked as checked-in with no changes. In the case of an edited image then the image is refused to be un-checked-in unless forced in this case the images will be removed thus lossing any edits done on the image.
